Scaling for salad bars

Late last month, Organics Category Manager Chris Ford and Corporate Communications Director Karin Gardner rode alongside T&G’s Chris Willett to represent JAZZ apples in the 2018 Tour de Fresh, an annual industry fundraiser that brings salad bars to schools in areas where fruits and vegetables may not otherwise be readily available to young people.

Spanning four days and nearly 300 miles, the JAZZ cyclists climbed over 12,000 feet (that’s nearly halfway up Mt. Everest, folks!) in the scorching northern California heat.

Tour de Fresh has placed about 80 salad bars in the last five years and will continue to raise funds through the end of the month. Should you wish to contribute (bonus: Oppy matches up to $50 for employee donations!) your donations are welcome here.
