Day in the life… of Controller, Rosa Martinez
Rosa is from Santiago, Chile where she attended Santiago’s Central University to obtain an accounting degree while also working full time. She earned a CPA (Contador Publico Auditor) designation, and more recently, two specialization programs on tax and IFRS at the University of Santiago.
Early in her career, Rosa worked in outsourcing firms TMF and Puente Sur providing accounting and tax services for clients in industries such as agriculture, mining and chemicals. She joined Oppy six years ago as a controller in the accounting department and continues to grow in experience as she strengthens her teamwork skills. In 2015 she received the Chilean employee of the year award.
Rosa has a three-year-old daughter with her husband and is very close with her mother and four brothers. They are a very united family and love taking vacations together.
Rosa says she likes working at Oppy because of the people and the work environment adding, “the workload in high season is heavy, but I love what I do!”
