Overview

Reporting to the Operations & Production Manager, the Production Coordinator facilitates the scheduling of repack operations and oversees packaging inventory to ensure daily work order requirements are met. Verifies all operational, inventory, and food safety requirements are maintained and discrepancies are reported. Proactively communicates with internal departments to facilitate efficient packaging, movement, and handling of product. Works in collaboration with Regional Manufacturing Manager and production team members to performs repack operations, scheduling, quality assurance, and inventory activities as required.

Accountabilities:

• Coordinates all repack operations including scheduling, monitoring, reporting, and collaborates with internal team members on demands and deadlines in a cost efficient and timely manner.
• Monitors the rotation, transfers, movement and accuracy of packaging inventory, and ensure materials required for the successful completion of repack projects are available.
• Monitors the quality of the commodities in collaboration with QC/QA, and documents repack product data (conversion, reconditioning, losses, etc.).
• Responsible for maintaining packaging inventory, and replenishing levels to meet work daily work orders need. Receives packaging shipments, creates inventory transfers for packaging and manages inventory counts.
• Works with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve warehouse or repack room related issues accurately and quickly.
• Supports a safe working environment by abiding by all safe work procedures and policies at all times; ensures food safety handling guidelines are followed and enforced.
• Build and maintains effective business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Completion of additional ad-hoc tasks as required.

Required Knowledge & Abilities

• General understanding of efficient manufacturing practices and food safety regulations preferred.
• Self-motivated with high standards; ability to work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with various departments and foster teamwork.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to safely lift up to 30 pounds, and work in cold temperatures in a warehouse/product storage environment.

Ideal Qualifications

• Degree, diploma in supply chain, logistics, or related industry preferred; training in agri-business is an asset.
• Minimum, 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing/production and/or inventory; produce industry experience is an asset.
