Oppy strengthens Eastern Canadian sales strategy

VANCOUVER, B.C.— In a move that aims to better serve customers in Eastern Canada, The Oppenheimer Group opened a sales office in Toronto, Ontario on October 15.

Senior Sales Representative Steve McKee came to Oppy following nearly a decade and a half with Sunkist Growers, Inc., where he has held various sales and sales leadership positions. Most recently, he marketed citrus throughout English-speaking Eastern Canada, and implemented sales strategies for national Canadian retail accounts.

“Steve brings excellent knowledge of the market, its structure, and its nuances to the role with us,” said Walt Breeden, Oppy’s Canadian director of sales. “We know he will work hard on behalf of our growers and our customers, assuring that Oppy products gain wider Eastern Canadian distribution in the years ahead.”

Breeden said the company had been looking for the right individual and the right opportunity to open a dedicated Toronto location.

“Sales people based in other Oppy offices have served our Eastern Canadian customers admirably over the years,” he said. “In order to work toward our potential in the market, the time has come to commit fully with a local sales presence and a cohesive, integrated strategy.”

McKee welcomed the chance to join the full-service marketing distribution company, eager to put his citrus expertise to work for Oppy while also looking forward to selling the wide assortment of items produced by the company’s far-reaching grower network.

“I was attracted to the idea of joining a Canadian company, especially one as dynamic as Oppy,” he said. “It will be exciting to introduce new items to the customer base here, and play a role the efficient go-to-market strategy the company is known for, in a place where there is such an opportunity for growth.”
