Overview

The Treasury Analyst supports corporate treasury operations, including cash management, banking, loans, foreign exchange, insurance administration, and enterprise risk management activities. This role is responsible for initiating daily wire payments, maintaining optimal cash balances across multiple bank accounts and banking platforms, creating and updating vendor records and beneficiary banking details, preparing treasury reports, assisting with information gathering for insurance renewals, and supporting internal controls and compliance processes. The Analyst works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of treasury activities, contributing to the company’s financial stability and risk mitigation efforts.

Accountabilities

  • Prepares and processes daily banking transactions, including wire transfers, account funding, and foreign exchange settlements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Monitors corporate bank accounts in two currencies for both operating and holding legal entities across two online banking platforms.
  • Supports the administration of bank loans by providing drawdown and repayment recommendations, preparing signed loan instructions, reviewing loan confirmations, and updating loan details in the loan tracker.
  • Reviews, verifies and inputs vendor and beneficiary bank details set-up or change requests and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy, legitimacy, and compliance with company policy and audit requirements; applies critical thinking to assess and challenge irregular or potentially fraudulent information.
  • Assists the Treasury Supervisor with collecting information for insurance renewals.
  • Prepares and updates treasury reports and documentation, including month-end reporting, procedure manuals and process flowcharts.
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders and banking partners to resolve payment issues promptly and effectively.
  • Assists in updating weekly cash reports by gathering data from business units and analyzing variances to support cash planning.
  • Supports treasury-related audits and regulatory filings.
  • Performs ad hoc financial analyses related to treasury, insurance, and risk management as required.

Required Knowledge & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts and their practical application in treasury-related activities.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP), and working knowledge of Word and Outlook; familiarity with Optimo and online banking systems is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve and make appropriate recommendations and decisions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication (written & verbal) and customer service skills; ability to work effectively with multiple departments and forge strong relationships with all other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability in exercising good judgement and critical thinking skills; demonstrates a high level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism at all times.
  • Strong organization and time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple demands in a timely manner.
  • Self-motivated with high standards and attention to detail; ability to set priorities and work accurately within tight deadlines in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Positive and engaging attitude, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and fun working environment.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Degree, diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum, 2 – 4 years’ experience in cash management, accounting treasury, or financial operations.
  • Experience with banking platforms and/or insurance administration is an asset.
