The Opportunity
Join a dynamic and fast-paced production environment where no two days are the same! As a Production Coordinator, you will play a critical role in scheduling repack operations and managing packaging inventory across multiple locations as needed. This position requires agility, problem-solving, and strong organizational skills to ensure daily production runs smoothly. You will collaborate with various departments to optimize product movement and handling while maintaining high standards of efficiency, accuracy, and food safety. Please Note: On-site attendance is required 5 days (full-time) week for this role.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and oversees all repack operations, including scheduling, monitoring, and reporting, while collaborating with internal teams to meet production demands and deadlines efficiently.
- Monitors the rotation, transfers, movement, and accuracy of packaging inventory, ensuring materials are available for repack projects and preventing shortages or overages.
- Works closely with QC/QA teams to assess commodity quality and documents repack product data, including conversion rates, reconditioning efforts, and losses.
- Maintains and replenishes packaging inventory to align with daily work order needs, receiving shipments, executing inventory transfers, and managing inventory counts.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and quickly resolve warehouse and repack-related issues, ensuring smooth operations.
- Supports a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with food safety handling guidelines.
- Builds and maintains strong business relationships with internal departments and external partners to drive efficiency and operational success.
- Completes additional tasks and projects as needed to support a dynamic and fast-paced production environment.
Required Competencies
- Knowledge of efficient manufacturing practices and food safety regulations is preferred.
- Highly self-motivated with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments and foster a team-oriented work environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
- Capable of safely lifting up to 30 pounds and working in cold storage or warehouse environments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Degree, diploma in supply chain, logistics, or related industry preferred; training in agri-business is an asset.
- Minimum, 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing/production and/or inventory; produce industry experience is an asset.
