Overview

Are you a results-driven accounting professional with a passion for leadership and fostering a collaborative approach? We are seeking a skilled, team-oriented Senior Manager, Financial Reporting who will oversee the company’s ASPE and US GAAP financial reporting ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across our multi-currency consolidations and Dole plc reporting requirements. You will lead the delivery of timely, high-quality financial statements, strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance, and provide clear financial insights that support decision-making, performance management, and strategic priorities.

As a collaborative business partner, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to align reporting processes with organizational goals, streamline workflows, and advance key initiatives such as consolidation software system implementation and refinement. Your ability to translate complex financial concepts into practical guidance will help leaders across the business understand results, manage risks, and unlock opportunities.

Central to this role is your leadership of the Financial reporting team. You will cultivate a high-performing, engaged, and solutions-focused group by setting clear expectations, coaching and developing team members, and fostering a culture grounded in integrity, accountability and continuous improvement. Please Note: In-office attendance is required for the first 6-months of training and the position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule following the training period depending on team needs.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the preparation and reporting of consolidated monthly financial statements and related financial information, including multi-currency and multi-level ownership consolidations and GAAP conversions (ASPE to US GAAP), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery to company leadership and investors.
  • Leads, manages, and reviews the work of the Financial Reporting team; provides structured coaching, targeted training, and continuous development to enhance technical expertise, elevate performance, and build strong bench strength.
  • Collaborates with leaders in corporate accounting and forecasting to deliver timely and accurate financial reports.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of key controls within the financial reporting function to ensure compliance with Sarbanes–Oxley Act (SOX) requirements for the public reporting obligations of parent company Dole plc.
  • Coordinates the preparation of the monthly Board of Director packages; ensures accuracy and reviews contents as required.
  • Prepares and reviews ASPE and US GAAP compliant accounting memos and business cases for approval by the company’s executive team and Total Produce, as applicable in accordance with established governance policies.
  • Collaborates with the corporate accounting leader and the IT department to establish and maintain accounting systems for financial reporting which comply with ASPE and US GAAP accounting standards, tax requirements, and management reporting requirements.
  • Conducts reviews and analyzes various aspects of the business to facilitate an understanding of key risk areas, including significant grower advances/loans, grower loan provisions, treasury, foreign exchange, income tax and others.
  • Reviews analytical findings and financial reports with the CFO and subsequently the head of finance North America for Dole plc.
  • Provides support in the analysis of potential international opportunities for mergers, acquisitions, significant capital expenditures, risk mitigation strategies, and other projects.
  • Manages consolidation and financial reporting systems, including Hyperion and CoStar lease accounting platforms, ensuring system integrity, timely updates, and accurate consolidated reporting.
  • Coordinates with accounting teams across non-wholly owned subsidiaries and joint ventures to obtain accurate, timely financial information required for consolidation and financial reporting.
  • Coordinates with internal and external auditors, as well as tax advisors, to support consolidated financial reporting requirements, including US GAAP tax disclosures and deferred tax items.
  • Participates in the strategic planning process both at corporate and departmental levels; ensures that department goals are in line with company objectives and works with the Executive Vice President Finance & CFO to develop the strategic objectives for the accounting & finance team.
  • Provides support to the treasury team, including approval of wire transfers and management of daily cash positions, as required.

Required Knowledge & Abilities

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills: collaborator, mentor, problem solver.
  • A strong financial background with proven success in financial reporting and audit.
  • In-depth experience in reporting in compliance with US GAAP and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), coupled with a keen interest in accounting research.
  • Experienced in bottom line accountability combined with a good blend of overall business savvy; able to effectively communicate recommendations and decisions to senior executives.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, handling multiple tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply intellectual rigor and critical thinking to technical financial reporting issues, to consider and document different accounting alternatives, to challenge different positions constructively and make well-supported recommendations.
  • Confidence and ability to work effectively with top-level management and interact professionally with colleagues.
  • Detail-focused and well organized, demonstrating strong execution and reliability in fast-paced environments and under demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, make appropriate decisions and effectively communicate information, both orally and written, to appropriate parties.
  • Highly proactive self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative, anticipates issues, and advances priorities with minimal direction.

Required Qualifications

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Experience gained in a “big-four” accounting firm an asset.
  • Minimum, 5-years of management experience in accounting and financial planning and analysis with ASPE and US GAAP Standards.
  • Public company financial reporting experience an asset.
