Overview

The Marketing Packaging Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the creation and execution of packaging solutions for multiple produce brands. The Coordinator brings packaging artwork and designs to life, ensuring all materials are accurate, print-ready, and aligned with brand standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-driven, and skilled in project coordination, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams, growers, and vendors to support proof approvals and contribute to achieving our sustainable packaging goals.

The expected base salary range of this position is $65,000 – $70,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position based in our U.S. and Canada office locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by various factors including location, job-related skills, relevant experience, education, formal training, and internal equity.

Accountabilities

  • Ensures packaging artwork aligns with brand standards; reviews growers’ designs and verifies legal claims and regulatory text.
  • Confirms materials meet government, retailer, and customer requirements; tracks emerging environmental regulations and communicates updates to internal teams; supports growers in meeting compliance programs.
  • Creates and manages UPCs in Optimo, ensuring accurate barcode assignments; provides guidance and support to internal teams and growers on UPC-related inquiries.
  • Executes How2Recycle submissions; manages material and design approval workflows; maintains up-to-date documentation as platform rules evolve.
  • Releases finalized artwork to printers and growers; creates new SKUs based on existing packaging; maintains an organized packaging file system.
  • Reviews and approves proofs for existing packaging SKUs for growers and internal partners, ensuring designs are accurate and print-ready.
  • Responds to packaging-related requests from internal departments and growers, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Coordinates marketing display setups, including vendor communication, quotes, timelines, design confirmation, and delivery logistics.
  • Stays current with packaging regulations and industry best practices; participates in relevant trainings.
  • Manages multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and proactively moving projects forward.

Required Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of packaging development and production processes, including print production, materials, testing protocols, and quality standards.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator, and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess issues, make sound recommendations, and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal); ability to work effectively with multiple departments and forge strong relationships within the marketing team and with all other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with high standards of accuracy and quality; able to manage competing demands while maintaining efficiency and precision.
  • Positive and engaging attitude, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and fun working environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Packaging, Print Production, Regulatory Affairs or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum, 2–5 years of experience working with packaging materials, packaging artwork, or label coordination in a CPG or food production environment.
  • Working knowledge of packaging materials (e.g., corrugate, flexible film, labels, clamshells) and basic print production processes.
  • Experience reviewing packaging artwork, making minor edits in Adobe Illustrator, and preparing files for print.
  • Familiarity with barcode/UPC creation and packaging specification requirements.
  • Understanding of regulatory text requirements and label compliance considerations.
