Oppy’s Staci Burke receives 2023 Women in Supply Chain award
Food Logistics’ honors female supply chain leaders and executives
Food Logistics has selected Oppy’s Staci Burke as a recipient of its Women in Supply Chain award.
This recognition honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship and examples set a foundation for women in all levels of a company’s supply chain network. As director of port and distribution operations, Burke was selected among 400 submissions, the highest level of applications ever received for any of Food Logistics’ and Supply & Demand Chain’s awards.
“Hired as a seasonal operations assistant 16 years ago, Staci has made significant contributions through her profound knowledge of the supply chain and strategic partnerships, positioning Oppy as an industry leader,” said Stewart Lapage, Burke’s manager and executive director of operations and logistics. “It comes as no surprise that Staci was selected for this award, she is a key role model amongst the team, driving positive transformations and initiatives that have had a significant impact on the business and the people around her.”
Oppy recently recognized that influence when she was honored as its West Coast USA Employee of the Year in 2022, while also holding a leadership position for over a decade as one of its Champions of Change. With each member selected to be the key voice for their office or department, this committee reviews the annual employee engagement survey to present key findings to the executive group which is then integrated into that year’s strategy.
Vice President of Operations Steve Roosdahl shared, “Staci has not only made substantial impacts within our company, but in the global supply chain as well, particularly in the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftereffects. Given the diverse import and handling requirements of products from 28 different countries, Staci’s agile approach to problem-solving drove initiatives that have streamlined the flow of products from Oppy’s hundreds of growers across the globe to the largest produce retailers, wholesalers and food service companies in North America.”
Recipients will be honored at this year’s Women in Supply Chain Forum from November 14-15, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia.
