The accounting and finance team provides accurate, timely and relevant financial information to support our leaders and partners to guide them to the right decisions. This group is responsible for many aspects of our business, from compliance to contract and risk management to financial planning and reporting.

Business Development Representatives

Passionate produce promoters.

Our business development representatives (BDRs) liaise within the sales and marketing team to place and promote our products throughout the industry. A strategically situated network of marketing specialists with territories throughout North America, BDRs add value to the sales transaction, providing in-depth product knowledge, advertising opportunities, promotional activities and merchandising strategies at the retail, wholesale and foodservice level.

Category Management

Connection cultivators.

Category leaders create a smooth connection between our grower relations and sales teams, integrating Oppy products into an effective sales strategy that elevates value so we can “sell the whole tree.” Attentive to trends and always scanning the horizon for the latest flavors, textures and fresh produce experiences, they are known for introducing exciting new items and supporting them into the mainstream. 

Food Safety

Supply chain safeguards.

Retailers can sell our products with confidence thanks to our food safety team, which ensures that all appropriate policies and security protocols are followed. Our food safety disciplines extend to our cold storage locations and grower partners, assuring adherence to industry requirements and government regulations. Realizing that products remain vulnerable throughout the supply chain, food safety at Oppy also means monitoring the security of our produce at every location and transfer point—during vessel loading and discharge, in storage, and through to its final destination.

Grower Relations

Friends of farmers.

The grower relations group identifies new procurement opportunities and cultivates strong, collaborative relationships with growers and exporters in order to secure the right fruit for our customers. The team monitors performance and consults with our partners on harvesting and packing, supply chain requirements and market selection.

Information Technology

Wizards of ones and zeros.

At Oppy, members of our information technology (IT) team are highly integrated with the rest of the company. They support our proprietary enterprise system, which involves everything from developing specifications and applications to testing and implementation. They also maintain our websites and IT servers, and provide support for all systems, networks, packaged software and data and voice networks.

Marketing & Communications

Insightful innovators.

Our marketing and communications team is the creative force behind Oppy. This group manages our brand, develops and implements marketing strategies for growers and products, provides category insights, creates and manages media campaigns, develops sales and materials and maintains Oppy’s social and online presence.


Stewards of supply.

Operations is responsible for our products from the first point of receipt (pier location or cold storage) through to customer shipment. The operations team liaises with government agencies to ensure we meet all requirements as products travel across our supply chain.

Quality Control

Control freaks—and we like them that way.

The quality control team is responsible for the condition of the product from receiving to shipping. Comprehensive QC inspections take place at our cold storage locations (inbound, re-inspections and outbound) to ensure the right product is delivered to the right customer every time.

Members of our sales team have their fingers on the pulse of the produce market. They develop and foster important relationships with growers and retailers to achieve the best possible results for everyone. Sales reps work closely with marketing, category management, quality control, operations and transportation colleagues to ensure that the finest products are delivered on time and at a competitive price.

Supply Chain Management

Channel surfers.

Supply chain management means coordinating and supporting of all aspects of sourcing, procurement, product conversion, reconditioning and logistics. Focusing strongly on continuous improvement and working closely with IT to automate business processes, this group also assures the traceability of our products through the distribution chain, collaborating with channel partners like suppliers, intermediaries, third-party service providers and customers.

Drivers of freshness.

Our transportation team arranges trucking for delivered orders as well as product transfers between our storage locations. They use our in-house systems and interactive tracking technology to provide one of the most advanced logistics services in North America. In addition to handling our own products, this team offers a wide range of third party freight services, keeping trucks fully loaded inbound and out.
