Vice President of Operations

Steve is responsible for maintaining and improving logistics efficiencies throughout our supply chain by guiding the efforts of Oppy’s operations, quality control, transportation and inventory teams.

Starting in our IT department in 1996, Steve gained highly relevant expertise on the company’s enterprise system and insight to our supply chain. In 2011, Steve became Oppy’s first director of supply chain, operations and quality control. In 2019 he was promoted to vice president of operations, adding food safety, government relations and facilities to his responsibilities.

Steve oversees sustainability initiatives at Oppy, leading the committee dedicated to identifying and implementing strategies that reduce waste and conserve resources in key areas of our business.

Also making significant contributions to the industry, he has spent many years chairing the Produce Traceability Initiative’s implementation committee, the Canadian Produce Marketing Association’s  (CPMA) Council of Food Processing and Consumer Products and in his current CPMA director role. Steve is also a contributor to Produce Blueprints, the produce professionals’ quarterly journal. 

He received his diploma in computer and information systems from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and completed his MBA in 2016.
