The Systems Administrator ensures stable operation of our cloud and on-site infrastructure, including planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing technology. Actively resolves incidents through diagnosis and troubleshooting to minimize work disruptions and provides timely technical support to end users. Participates in the research, development and implementation of operational guidelines and process improvement plans.


  • Act as a subject matter expert for technical initiatives and ongoing support.
  • Reviewing current state of IT infrastructure and identifying issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Managing projects through start to finish as both project manager and subject matter expert.
  • Administer and improve existing datacenter infrastructure, including on-premises, disaster recovery and cloud.
  • Investigate, analyze, and document significant unplanned downtime events.
  • Stay up to date on security advisories, providing recommendations and contributing to our policies and procedures.
  • Proactively monitor, plan and update hardware and software nearing its end-of-service and end-of-life date.
  • Procure and deploy enterprise hardware in a 24x7x365 production environment.
  • Perform everyday routine infrastructure health checks, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and maintenance of related issues.
  • Provide training on latest technology and hardware by course or online meetings.
  • Provide site visits to remote offices as needed to perform duties such as switching out hardware and diagnosing problems.
  • Develop and maintain operational guidelines for on-premises and cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Participate in the on-call support rotation, providing after hours support by answering phone calls and responding to users in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support to end users.
  • Provide 24×7 incident response for high-severity incidents related to critical infrastructure.

Required Knowledge & Abilities

  • Experience with Office 365 stack; Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune.
  • Experience with Windows Client/Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI, PowerShell, and MECM.
  • Experience with public and private cloud, networking, virtualization, identity, security, and storage.
  • Experience and understanding of IT operations, including backup management, upgrading systems and applications, patch management, performance tuning, monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with web servers and content management systems (WordPress, Drupal).
  • Deploy, setup and maintain enterprise hardware including hypervisors, storage, networking, backup servers, and UPS.
  • Experience with database administration and maintenance.
  • Ability to create and maintain internal procedures, ensuring that all documentation and knowledge base articles are up to date.
  • Serve as a mentor to your peers through knowledge transfer and skills development.
  • Active role in planning and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision.
  • Refined organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to deal with sensitive and complex information.
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure.
  • Good observation skills and problem-solving ability.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Degree, diploma in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum, 3-years’ experience as a Systems Administrator or similar position.
  • MCSE Server Infrastructure certification required.
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CCNA or VMware VCP-DCV certification would be an asset.
